Turning the Magnet Poles

The magnet pole faces get beaten up by the ball, so I turned mine to make them flat.

Here's the left magnet. Brings new meaning to the word "ball trough". Left alone, these poles will eventually mushroom out and jam.
Here's a magnet removed from the machine.
A re-faced pole. I did this on my tiny lathe, the material machines easily
And here is a refinished pole in the machine. Nice view of the existing opto hole.
