First,
pick a spot. On my ST:TNG, I decided to go with the space between the
cashbox divider and the transformer support. |
Next,
drop the template in place. It needs to be clear all around of wood,
wiring and other obstructions. Drill a pilot hole in one of the corners,
then drill the pilot hole out to take a #10 T-nut. |
Push
a T nut into the hole from underneath. Hammer it in: drawing it in with
a screw will bend the prongs and cut little wood circles. Put a #10 screw in
through the top. Tighten it down to draw the T nut into the wood. Make
sure that the template is where you want it, and drill the other three
holes. |
Push
the other T nuts in: tap them gently so that they don't fall out as soon
as you touch them. Then, hammer them home. Remove the locating screw and the template. |
Drop
the shaker assembly in place. Fix it down with four #10 screws. Tighten
them to draw the T nuts into the wood. The final installation will have
finger guards. |
